“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”
Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)
Lord, today I run a long race. I have trained for months, and now it is time. Thank You for the body You gave me and the ability to run.
Keep me safe from injury. Help me pace myself wisely, drink enough and listen to my body.
When the miles get hard and my legs want to stop, give me strength to keep going. Let me remember why I started.
Let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Teach me patience in this race and in the bigger race of life.
Bless the other runners, the volunteers and the people cheering. Let me finish well and give You thanks at the end. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Short prayer to remember
Help me run with patience the race before me, Lord. Amen.
