Prayer for Strength During a Divorce

For the pain, paperwork and loneliness of a marriage ending.

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

Joshua 1:9 (KJV)

Lord, my marriage is ending, and I never imagined I would be here. I feel grief, anger, fear and shame all at once.

Give me strength for each day. Help me make wise decisions about money, home and children. Give me a good lawyer and fair outcomes.

Guard my words. Help me not say things I will regret. If there are children, protect their hearts and help us both love them well.

Heal the wounds in me. Show me that my worth does not come from this marriage but from being Your child.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Be with me as I walk into this new chapter. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

You are with me wherever I go, Lord. Give me courage today. Amen.
