Prayer for an Exhausted Caregiver

For those caring for a sick parent, spouse or child day after day, with little rest.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

Lord, I am so tired. I care for someone I love every day, and I give everything I have. Some days I feel like there is nothing left of me.

Give me strength for today’s tasks, the medicines, the meals, the appointments and the long nights. Give me patience when I am frustrated and gentleness when I am worn thin.

Send help. Bring friends, family or services who can give me a break. Help me ask for help without guilt.

When no one sees what I do, remind me that You see. Let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Keep me from fainting, Lord.

Care for me while I care for them. Let me rest well tonight. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

You see what I do, Lord. Keep me from growing weary today. Amen.
