Prayer on the Anniversary of a Death

For the date each year that brings the loss back fresh.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Revelation 21:4 (KJV)

Lord, today marks another year since my loved one died. The day brings back memories and fresh pain.

Thank You for the time we had. Help me honor their memory today with love.

Comfort everyone who misses them. Let us share stories, tears and even laughter.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying. Thank You for the hope of that day.

Carry me through today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Lord, wipe away my tears today and hold my hope. Amen.
