Prayer for Parents Who Lost a Child

For mothers and fathers carrying the deepest kind of loss.

“But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.”

2 Samuel 12:23 (KJV)

Lord, our child has died, and there are no words for this pain. It is not the order life should go in.

Hold us when we cannot stand. Comfort us in every empty room and every missed milestone.

When King David lost his son, he said, I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me. Give us that hope of seeing our child again.

Keep our marriage and family together. Send people who will walk with us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Lord, hold us and give us hope of seeing our child again. Amen.
