Prayer After the Loss of a Spouse

For widows and widowers learning to live without their partner.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

Psalm 23:4 (KJV)

Lord, my husband or wife is gone. The person I shared my life with is not here, and I feel lost.

Hold me through the long days and lonelier nights. Help me with the decisions I now face alone.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Walk with me in this valley.

Thank You for the love we shared. Give me hope for the days ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

You are with me in this valley, Lord. Comfort me. Amen.
