Prayer for Forgiveness After Yelling at Your Kids

For parents who lost their temper and want to make it right.

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.”

James 1:19-20 (KJV)

Lord, I yelled at my children today, and I regret it. I was tired and frustrated, and I let it out on them.

Forgive me. Help me apologize to them and show them how to make things right.

Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Make me slow to anger.

Heal any hurt in their hearts and help me do better tomorrow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Make me slow to anger, Lord. Help me make it right. Amen.
