Prayer for a Dog Having Surgery

For the hours when your dog is at the vet for surgery and you are waiting at home.

“Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.”

Psalm 36:6 (KJV)

Lord, You made every creature and You care for them all. Today my dog is in surgery and I am anxious. They are part of our family, and I cannot imagine our home without them.

Please guide the vet’s hands and give the whole team skill and care. Keep my dog safe under anesthesia, let the surgery go smoothly, and help them wake up gently.

As they recover, ease their pain, protect them from infection, and help them rest even though they do not understand why they have to wear a cone or stay quiet.

Thank You for the love and loyalty You give us through our pets. Thank You for the joy this dog brings to our home every day.

You preserve both man and beast, Lord. I trust this little life to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Lord, You care for every creature. Bring my dog safely through today. Amen.
