Prayer Before Dental Surgery

For wisdom teeth, implants, root canals or any dental procedure that makes your heart race.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Psalm 46:1 (KJV)

Lord, I am nervous about this dental surgery. The sounds, the needles and the waiting room all make me tense. Please calm my body and my mind.

Guide the dentist and the assistants. Give them skill and a gentle touch. Let the anesthesia work well, let the procedure go quickly, and keep me safe from complications.

When it is over, help me heal well. Keep infection away, limit the swelling and pain, and help me follow the aftercare instructions.

You are my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. That includes small troubles like this one. Thank You that nothing is too small to bring to You.

Help me relax into the chair and trust You with what I cannot control. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

You are my refuge and strength, Lord, even in the dentist's chair. Amen.
