“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
Psalm 27:14 (KJV)
Lord, the waiting is the hardest part. Every time my phone rings my heart jumps, and every quiet moment fills up with questions I cannot answer. I bring this waiting to You because I cannot carry it alone.
Guard my mind from imagining the worst. When fear starts to write a story about my future, remind me that only You know tomorrow, and You are already there. Help me live today well, eat a meal, talk to the people I love, and sleep tonight.
I pray for a good report. I ask it plainly, because You tell me to bring my requests to You. And I also ask for the grace to face whatever the result is, with faith instead of panic.
Be with the people in the lab and the doctor who will call me. Give them accuracy and kindness. Teach me to wait on You and be of good courage, knowing You will strengthen my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Short prayer to remember
I will wait on You, Lord. Strengthen my heart until the call comes. Amen.
