Prayer for a Child Who Is Afraid of the Dark

A simple bedtime prayer for little ones scared of the dark.

“Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”

Psalm 139:12 (KJV)

Dear God, it is dark in my room and I feel scared. Sometimes I think I see shapes and hear noises.

Thank You that You are here with me. You can see in the dark, and the dark is not dark to You. The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

Please keep me safe all night. Help me close my eyes and sleep well. Watch over my mom and dad and my whole family.

When I wake up, let me see the morning light and remember that You were with me the whole time.

Thank You for loving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

God, the dark is not dark to You. Keep me safe tonight. Amen.
