Prayer for a Teenager Getting Their Driver’s License

For parents handing over the car keys for the first time.

“The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

Psalm 121:8 (KJV)

Lord, my teenager just got their driver’s license. I am proud of them, and I am nervous every time they pull out of the driveway.

Protect them on the road. Give them alertness, good judgment and patience. Keep them from distractions like phones and friends in the car. Protect them from careless and dangerous drivers.

Help them make wise choices about where they go and who they ride with. Help them respect the responsibility they have been given.

The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Watch over every trip they take.

Give me peace while I wait for them to come home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Lord, watch over my teen's going out and coming in. Amen.
