Prayer for a Soldier Before Deployment

For service members and their families in the days before leaving home.

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)

Lord, deployment is coming. I am preparing to leave the people I love for a long time, and my heart is heavy.

Give me courage and strength for what is ahead. Protect my body and mind. Help me serve with honor, make wise decisions and look after the people beside me.

Watch over my family while I am gone. Give them peace, provision and people to lean on. Help us stay connected across the distance.

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Go with me, Lord.

Bring me safely home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

You go with me, Lord, and will not fail me. Bring me home safely. Amen.
