Prayer for Reconciliation With a Sibling

For brothers and sisters who have drifted apart or stopped speaking.

“And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept.”

Genesis 33:4 (KJV)

Lord, my sibling and I are not on good terms. Old hurts and new arguments have pushed us apart.

Soften both our hearts. Help me take the first step and reach out with humility.

When Jacob and Esau met after years apart, Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept. Bring that kind of reunion to our family.

Help us listen, forgive and start again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Lord, soften our hearts and bring my sibling and me back together. Amen.
