Prayer for Peace When Moving to a New City

For the boxes, goodbyes and unknown streets of a big move.

“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 (KJV)

Lord, I am moving to a new city and my feelings are all over the place. I am excited and scared, sad to leave and hopeful about what is ahead.

Go before me. Lead me to a good home, a good church, kind neighbors and real friends. Help me find my way around and settle in.

Comfort me when I miss the people and places I leave behind. Help me stay connected to those I love.

You promise that You go before me, You will be with me, You will not fail me nor forsake me. I hold onto that promise as I pack every box and drive every mile.

Let this new place become home, and let me be a blessing there. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

You go before me, Lord. Make this new city home. Amen.
