Prayer for Anxiety About Going Back to Work

For returning to work after leave, illness, a baby or a long break, when Sunday night feels heavy.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

Lord, tomorrow I go back to work and I feel uneasy. I have been away for a while and I worry about what has changed, what I have forgotten, and what people will think.

Give me a calm mind tonight and a clear head in the morning. Help me ease back in without trying to catch up on everything in one day. Give me kind coworkers and a patient boss.

If I am leaving a baby or a sick loved one at home, comfort my heart and protect them while I am gone.

You said, come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. I am heavy laden, Lord. Give me rest in the middle of the work, not only after it.

Help me do good work, be honest about what I need, and come home with peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Lord, I come to You heavy. Give me rest as I go back to work. Amen.
