Prayer for Healing After Knee Replacement Surgery

For the long weeks of swelling, therapy and small steps after a knee replacement.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

Lord, thank You for bringing me safely through surgery. Now the real work begins, and some days it hurts more than I expected. I ask You to heal this new joint and the muscles and skin around it. Bring the swelling down, guard me from infection and blood clots, and let the bone and implant knit together well.

Give me patience with my body. When I can only bend a few more degrees today, help me celebrate that small win instead of feeling discouraged. Give me strength to do my exercises even when I would rather stay on the couch.

Bless my physical therapist and the people helping me at home. Help me accept help without feeling like a burden.

You promise that those who wait on You will renew their strength, that they will walk and not faint. I hold on to that promise with every step I take, with the walker, then the cane, and one day on my own. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Renew my strength, Lord. Help me walk one more step today. Amen.
