Prayer for Forgiveness for Gossip

For when you said things about someone you should not have.

“Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.”

Psalm 141:3 (KJV)

Lord, I gossiped. I said things about someone that were unkind and that I should have kept to myself.

Forgive me. Help me make it right if I can. Protect the person I spoke about from harm.

Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Guard my words.

Help me speak words that build up and not tear down. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
