Prayer to Let Go of Bitterness

For when an old hurt has turned into resentment.

“Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.”

Hebrews 12:15 (KJV)

Lord, I have held on to anger for a long time, and it has turned into bitterness. It colors my thoughts and steals my joy.

I want to be free. Show me where bitterness has taken root and help me pull it out.

Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you. Pull up this root, Lord.

Fill the empty space with Your peace and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Pull up every root of bitterness in me, Lord. Amen.
