Prayer for a Blended Family

For stepfamilies learning to live and love together.

“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.”

Colossians 3:13-14 (KJV)

Lord, our family has come together from different homes and histories. Blending is harder than we expected, and there are days of tension and hurt.

Give us patience with each other. Help the children feel safe, valued and heard. Help us as parents stay united and fair.

Heal old wounds and help us forgive. Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Let love be the bond that holds us together. Help us build new traditions and good memories.

Thank You for this family. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Lord, let love bind our blended family together. Amen.
