Morning Prayer When You Wake Up Anxious

For mornings when worry arrives before your feet hit the floor.

“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.”

Psalm 5:3 (KJV)

Lord, I woke up anxious. My mind started racing before I even opened my eyes. My chest feels tight and I do not want to face the day.

I bring this worry to You first. Take the weight off my shoulders. Slow my breathing and quiet my thoughts.

Help me take the first small step, getting up, drinking water, opening the curtains, and then the next.

My voice shalt Thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee, and will look up. I look up to You now.

Walk with me through this day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

In the morning I look up to You, Lord. Carry my worry today. Amen.
