“If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”
Psalm 139:9-10 (KJV)
Lord, I am about to get on a plane and my stomach is in knots. Every bump and sound makes me jump, and my mind keeps picturing the worst. I give You this flight and my fear.
Give the pilots clear minds and skilled hands. Keep the engines and every part of this aircraft working well. Bring us smooth air and a safe landing.
When turbulence comes, help me remember that rough air is normal, and that You are no farther from me at thirty thousand feet than on the ground. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me and hold me.
Slow my breathing. Let me rest, read, or even sleep. Bless the crew and the people sitting around me.
Thank You for the trip ahead and the people waiting for me at the other end. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Short prayer to remember
Even here, Your hand holds me. Carry this plane safely, Lord. Amen.
