Prayer After Being Laid Off

For the shock, fear and questions that come after losing a job.

“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

Psalm 37:25 (KJV)

Lord, I lost my job and I feel shaken. I am worried about money, embarrassed, and unsure what comes next.

Remind me that my worth is not in my job title. I am Your child, and You have not forgotten me.

Provide for my family. Help us stretch what we have and find the help we need. Lead me to the next job, and open doors I could never open on my own.

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Do not forsake us, Lord.

Give me courage to start again, and peace while I wait. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

You have not forsaken me, Lord. Provide for us and lead me to new work. Amen.
