Prayer for a Spouse Battling Addiction

For husbands and wives loving someone caught in alcohol, drug or gambling addiction.

“Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”

1 Corinthians 13:7 (KJV)

Lord, my spouse is struggling with addiction. I am scared, angry and tired. I love them, but I do not know how to help.

Break the power of this addiction. Give them the desire and strength to get help. Lead them to the right treatment and people.

Protect me and our children. Give me wisdom to set healthy boundaries and not enable harmful behavior.

Love, the Bible says, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Help me love wisely, with both hope and truth.

Give me people to lean on and keep me from losing myself. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Lord, break this addiction and give me wisdom to love well. Amen.
