“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
Mark 4:39 (KJV)
Lord Jesus, there is a storm outside. The thunder is loud, the lightning is bright, and the wind is shaking the windows. My heart is pounding.
You once stood up in a boat and spoke to the wind and the waves, Peace, be still, and there was a great calm. Speak that calm over my home tonight and over my heart.
Protect our house, our power and our neighbors. Keep everyone safe from falling trees, flooding and harm. Watch over people who have to be out in this weather, emergency workers, drivers and those without shelter.
Help my children, and help me, feel safe. Let the sound of the rain remind us that You are bigger than any storm.
Thank You that this storm will pass. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Short prayer to remember
Jesus, speak peace, be still, over this storm and over my heart. Amen.
