Prayer for a Newborn Baby Coming Home

For the first night home with a new baby.

“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”

Psalm 127:3 (KJV)

Lord, we are bringing our baby home. Thank You for this beautiful, tiny gift. We are filled with joy and a little fear.

Protect our baby. Help them eat well, sleep well and grow strong. Keep them safe from sickness and harm.

Give us strength for the sleepless nights. Help us be patient with each other and with ourselves as we learn. Send good help and wise advice.

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is His reward. Thank You for trusting us with this child.

Fill our home with peace, love and Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Short prayer to remember

Thank You, Lord, for this gift. Watch over our baby tonight. Amen.
